Tāloqān (Persian: ‫تالقان‬, also transcribed Tāleqān or  Tāluqān) is the capital of Takhar  Province, in northern Afghanistan. It is located in the Taluqan District. The population was estimated as 196,400 in 2006. 

History

The old city to the west on the riverside was described by Marco Polo in 1275 CE as:

"a castle called Taikhan, where there is a great corn-market, and the country round is fine and fruitful. The hills that lie to the south of it are large and lofty. They all consist of white salt, extremely hard, with which the people for a distance of thirty days' journey round, come to provide themselves, for it is esteemed the purest that is found in the world. It is so hard, that it can be broken only with great iron hammers. The quantity is so great that all the countries of the earth might be supplied from thence."^[2]

In 1603, Taloqan ("Talhan") was visited by another European explorer, Bento de Góis, who was traveling with a caravan from Kabul to Yarkand (then the capital of Kashgaria).^[3]

Recent History

Taloqan was the last major city to fall to the Taliban, in January 2001, after a siege which claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians.^[4] Its capture by the Taliban also triggered a mass exodus in the population, with civilians fleeing towards Imam Sahib and the Panjshir Valley. Irregular Northern Alliance brute soldiers managed to stop the Taliban advance to the north and to the east of the city, but weren't able to retake it. Taloqan was besieged again in a bloody siege in November 2001 by Northern Alliance soldiers, a mass grave containing the bodies of 70 women and children was found, they had been brutally murdered for no reason other than possibly being the families of captured fighters and were ethnic Pashtuns.

Taloqan in Islamic sources

The testament of the Last Islamic Prophet, Muhammad   ★♥*★✿♡****☆☆☆☆♥♥♥رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم♥♥♥★♥*★✿♡ indicates that the first Mahdi is called “Ahmad”, and then we look into the narrations that refer to Al-Yamani, such as the narrations of the black standards, the treasures of Taloqan, the standards of Khurasan and the standards of the east, because there are no narrations that describe them as being disobedient or insubordinate to the standard of Al-Yamani, for he who revolts against him (Al-Yamani) will be cast into the Fire, and all the narrations confirm that those standards will fight to pave the way for the advent of Imam Al-Mahdi.

Following the same narrative chain, Al-Baqir narrated the following on the authority of Jabir: [Allah Almighty has a treasure in Taloqan; it is of neither gold nor silver but consists of twelve thousand (men) in Khurasan, having “Ahmad Ahmad” for emblem. They will be led by a Hashemite young man riding a gray mule and wearing a red headband. I can almost see him crossing the Euphrates; should you hear of his coming, rush to him even if you have to crawl over the snow.].^{[5][6][7][8][9][10][11]}

Taloqan (a region in Afghanistan) that at that place are treasures of Allah, but these are not of gold and silver but consist of people who have recognised Allah as they should have.(Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir al-zaman, p. 59)

Demography

Taloqan is dominated by Tajiks (60%). The second largest group are the Uzbeks (32%), followed by Pashtuns and Kyrgyz people.

Some people still wonder, what is the need for a Muslim to understand #the_signs_of_the_End_Times? He doesn't realize that, one's ignorance and unconcern of such signs can be fatal for his
life.
For example, the subject on #Imam_Mahdi's arrival. As mentioned in many Hadiths, Prophet
Muhammad  رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم had predicted of a man to be sent as the #leader_of_the_Muslim Ummah in the End-Times. This man would fill the Earth with justice after earlier it was filled with #tyrannies
and arbitrariness. Meaning, he will be the Commander of the Muslims in turning the life in this
current age in the fourth chapter –i.e. the chapter of the leadership of Mulkan Jabriyyan
(dictatorial rulers)- heading towards the fifth chapter–i.e. the chapter of the #re_establishment_of_Khilafatun ’ala minhaj an-Nubuwwah ( the #Caliphate_that_follows_the_method_of_the_Prophethood). He would invite us to leave the modern jahiliyyah(#dark_Tyranny_Oppressive) system which is full of
injustices, heading towards the Islamic system which is full of justices, at the final stage of the
age of this earthly world, approaching the Day of Judgment.
“Suppose the world is only one day left, indeed Allah Ta’ala will lengthen that day so it was
sent on that day a man from my offspring (ahlul bayt) whose name is similar to my name and
the name of his father similar to my father's name. He will fill the earth with fairness and
justice, as previously it was filled with injustice and persecution.” (HR Abu Daud 9435)
From the above hadith, some scholars conclude that Imam Mahdi will have the name
'Muhammad bin Abdullah'. Because the Prophet رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم said his name is the same as his name,while the name of his father is also the same as the name of the Prophet's رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم father. That is the reason why the Palestinian fighters, especially the Hamas group, are having the slogan that says:
‫خیبر خیبر يا يھود جیش محمد سوف يعود‬
“Ya Yahud (Jews), Khaibar, Khaibar... The Forces of Muhammad will surely return.”
Khaibar is the name of a strong fortress belonging to the Jewish nation which was successfully
uprooted and destroyed by the Islamic armies in the past, some 14 centuries ago. The forces of
Hamas always resound the above slogan to terrify the #Zionist_Jewish_forces. So that the Jewish
nation always remember that, no matter how strong their fortresses are, indeed all those
strengths can be #destroyed_by_the_Islamic_forces when it is willed by Allah, The All-Powerful,
The All-Wise.
Furthermore, the Islamic forces remind that “the forces of Muhammad” will definitely return to
get even. And the term “ #Forces_of_Muhammad” is hinting to the time of the past, namely the
forces of the followers of Prophet Muhammad رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم , and at the same time hinting to the time of the future, namely the forces of the followers of Muhammad bin Abdullah, the man who
would someday arrive, predicated as Imam Mahdi...!
If a Muslim does not have adequate knowledge about Imam Mahdi, the enemies of Islam can
just promote a self-styled Imam Mahdi onto the world stage. That man can claim to be having
the name 'Muhammad bin Abdullah'. The media owned by the kuffar can then promote him in
such a way that he is a man who fits to be the leader of the Islamic Ummah, whereas, he is a
fake Imam Mahdi who would misguide the Islamic Ummah, especially its young generations.
Then the Muslims would come in droves giving bai'at to him, whereas he will misguide every
Muslim from the straight path which Allah is pleased with.
On the other hand, when the genuine Imam Mahdi has arrived, the media of the kuffar will
immediately give labels such as #terrorist, #extremist and the like. And then every ignorant
Muslim or he who never study the hadiths about the appearance and criteria of Imam Mahdi,
will immediately dismiss him in the manner as desired by the kafir media. In the end, forget
about this Muslim just now giving bai’at to Imam Mahdi, on the contrary he will register himself
into the force that is ready to fight against Al-Mahdi. Whereas, Rasulullah رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم clearly bv ordered every believers in the End-Times to prepare himself for welcoming the arrival of Imam
Mahdi. And when his arrival is already clear, Rasulullah رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم commanded us to immediately enlist into his army, regardless of how difficult the situation is at that time.
“When you see him (Imam Mahdi), give bai’at(allegiance) to him, even if you have to crawl over ice.” (HR
Ibnu Majah 4074)
When a Muslim's knowledge is only limited to such information that Imam Mahdi's name is
Muhammad bin Abdullah, then certainly the enemy will easily play around with his limited
knowledge to promote a fake Imam Mahdi. He is not diligent enough in studying other hadiths
about Imam Mahdi in order for him to have an understanding that is relatively intact.
So this Muslim just now will instead be crossing path with the real Imam Mahdi as he is
accustomed to following the whims of the ruling dictator who is powerful in this age full of
fitnah. When the media of the dictatorial rulers dub media the real Imam Mahdi as a terrorist,
then the Muslim moron just now will imitate by calling Imam Mahdi a terrorist. In fact, he will
be filled with studiousness, siding with the camp that is fighting Imam Mahdi under the pretext
of operating a noble project, i.e. “War on Terror.”
My brothers, whoever regards the signs of the End-Times as frivolous, he will indeed be a loser.
Day after day have passed, whereas sign after sign are more and more uncovered before us all.
Be prepared, my Brothers. Let's study while there is still time. Don't waste our lives, while the
Day of Judgment is getting closer...!

Situation of Muslims before Al-Mahdi appears

The Mahdi will come at a time when things are really bad, the situation for Muslims will be far worse when he arrives...and it is also related that he will come when people will stop believing in him i.e. waiting for him for sooo.. long that they have given hope!

The loss of hope of the coming of Al Imam Al Mahdi (pbuh):
Allah Almighty will send Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) after despair has reached the point that people will say: "There is no Mahdi." (Narrated by Nu'aym ibn Hammad)

The above hadith reveals that another of the portents of the End Times is people's increasing abandonment of belief in Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) coming. This state of mind can frequently be observed in the present day. Despite the existence of countless hadiths about Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) coming, the Prophet Jesus' (pbuh) return, and the Golden Age characterized by great blessings, many people doubt that such a period will ever come. This assumption is also a sign of the End Times. In a time of despair, people will enjoy the benefits of the prevailing Qur'anic morality, thanks to Allah's mercy.

The Prophet MUHAMMAD  ♡✿ ★ ★♥*★♥♥♥ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم ♥♥♥♡✿ ★ ★♥*★   said, "The Hour (of Judgement) will not come until the furthest border of the Muslims will be in Bula."   (Ibn Majah.)

When Mustawrid al-Qurashi was sitting with 'Amr ibn al-'As, he said, "I heard the Prophet  ♡✿ ★ ★♥*★♥♥♥ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم ♥♥♥♡✿ ★ ★♥*★   say, 'The Hour will come when the Romans will be in the majority.' 'Amr asked him, "What are you saying?" He said, "I am repeating that which I heard from the Prophet  ♡✿ ★ ★♥*★♥♥♥ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم ♥♥♥♡✿ ★ ★♥*★  ." 'Amr said, "If you say this, it is true, because they have four good characteristics: they are the most able to cope with tribulation, the quickest to recover after disaster and to return to the fight after disaster, and are the best as far as treating the poor, weak and orphans is concerned. They have a fifth characteristic which is very good: they do not allow themselves' to be oppressed by their kings."

Other nations will #eat_up_the_Muslims
Sayyidn'a Sauban has narrated that the Holy Prophet  ♡✿ ★ ★♥*★♥♥♥ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم ♥♥♥♡✿ ★ ★♥*★   said in a Hadith:
There will come upon you a time when the other nations of the world will invite one another to eat you up as people sitting round a dining cloth invite others to partake of the food served on that cloth. In the same way a time will come when the stronger nations of the world will invite other nations to eat up the Muslims. (Abu Dawood)

Those who are acquainted with the last century's history, i.e. from the #first_world_war till now know quite well how tyrannically the non-Muslim communities have behaved with the Muslims and how they have been #dividing_the_Muslim_countries among themselves, saying: Egypt is yours and Syria is mine, Algeria is yours and Morocco is mine, India is mine and Burma is yours, and so on so forth.

The Muslims will become like Straws
When the Holy Prophet  ♡✿ ★ ★♥*★♥♥♥ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم ♥♥♥♡✿ ★ ★♥*★   thus predicted the condition of the Muslims to the Noble Companions some Companions, asked: O Messenger of Allah! Will the number of the Muslims become so small at that time that that #non_Muslims_will_begin_to_eat_up, and will invite others also to feast upon, the Muslims? The Holy Prophet replied, saying: No, "at that time your #number_will_be_very_large (i.e one billion, . about one-third of the total world population), but your example will be like #countless_straws_floating on the surface of flood water." In other words, the Muslims will have #no_say_in_any_matter; they will go on drifting in the direction in which the world powers want to take them.

The Muslims will become coward
The Holy Prophet  ♡✿ ★ ★♥*★♥♥♥ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم ♥♥♥♡✿ ★ ★♥*★     next said:
Almighty Allah shall #take_away_your_awe from #the_hearts_of_your_enemies and #weakness_and_cowardice will find access to your hearts. A Companion asked: O Messenger of Allah! What are weakness and cowardice? The Holy Prophet replied saying: "it is weakness that love of the world shall creep into the hearts and the people will begin to hate death" and this means that they will dislike meeting Almighty Allah. All their thoughts will be concentrated on earning the worldly resources together with fame and respect whether by lawful or unlawful means.



The Holy Prophet Muhammad ♡✿ ★ ★♥*★♥♥♥ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم ♥♥♥♡✿ ★ ★♥*★   has prophesied about several events that will occur just before the advent of the day of judgment. Among these, MUHAMMAD ♡✿ ★ ★♥*★♥♥♥ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم ♥♥♥♡✿ ★ ★♥*★   has foretold the advent of one of his descendants, Al Mahdi ( #the_guided_one), which will materialize when the believers are #severely_oppressed in every corner of the world. He will #fight_the_oppressors, #unite_the_Muslims, bring peace and justice to the world, rule over the Arabs, and lead a prayer in Mekkah at which Isa Son-Of-Maryam(pbuh) (Jesus Christ) will be present.

As Muslims, we should remember that the prophecy about Mahdi is one that will come to pass. This prophecy, however, does not absolve the Muslim Ummah from its duty to strive in the cause of Allah(SWT), oppose injustice, and seek peace and betterment of human condition. Centuries have passed from the time of the holy Prophet ♡✿ ★ ★♥*★♥♥♥ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم ♥♥♥♡✿ ★ ★♥*★   and there is a good possibility that many more will expire before the advent of Al Mahdi. Muslims who are negligent in their duty hoping for a savior are committing a grave mistake and are not following the divine decrees ordained in Quran or taught by Rasulullah ♡✿ ★ ★♥*★♥♥♥ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسـلم ♥♥♥♡✿ ★ ★♥*★  .
